about me

hello ! i go by many names but a common one is vivi raine, and i use it/its pronouns.

i am a digital artist, and have been actively contributing to the great database of interweb dreams since 2016, and have art tucked around on-line from as early as 2011 (although, if you ask me, things only become properly digestible by 2020). most of my art exists through manipulation of found sources through various methods, mostly via the avenue of sample-based music, although i have also created original compositions throughout much of my music-writing history. by my estimates, i have released over 600 pieces of music (including albums, eps, and singles) since i started in 2016, but i'm not the best at counting, nor am i the best at bookkeeping, although i am attempting to list my releases by alias on this page.

i also have a deep and lasting passion for older technology, especially the microcomputer and home tele-game console revolution of the late 1970s and early 1980s, and am in the early process of collecting certain specimen i find especially beautiful alongside software for utilising them, the project of which is accessible through this page. in similar discussion, i also have a deep love for so-called "boomer shooters" of the 1990s, especially games built on ken silverman's BUILD engine. my current favorite game of this genre is monolith's blood from 1997, although i also find outlaws by lucasarts to be quite fun, if deeply challenging. it would also beseech me to not mention my adoration for "walking simulator" games like yume nikki and its legion of beautiful imitators, and osamu sato's wonderful lsd dream emulator; not quite a walking simulator, but still a wonderful experience in its own right, is eastern mind by osamu sato, a puzzle game which i find difficult as an actual game but everescent in its virtual world.

outside of interest in computers, i spend much of my days exploring the inter-net and collecting digital fragments on my net-travels, alongside making music and playing the occasional game (and slowly maintaining this web page, of course !). i also sometimes attempt to mess around with new software to see how it impacts my workflow, so if you know if any that might be of interest (such as an odd art program or music production software) please contact me and i'll try it out.

if you wish to contact me for any reason, be it music, artwork, or for simply casual reasons, my main e-mail for such things is eir.mazur@gmail.com. please keep in mind, however, that i may be sometimes slow to inquiries or struggle with words, so please me patient if i do not immediately respond.

thank u for reading, have a wonderful day, and always remember that raine loves you.
